Overcoming Literacy Learning Loss

Teachers across the country are facing the challenges of student learning loss due to the pandemic.  This course gives concrete and clear strategies for helping students accelerate their acquisition of reading skills to specifically help regain the ground they may have lost.  While many “fads” in reading instruction have come and gone, the lessons will focus on the Science of Reading, which isn’t a fad or another swing of the pendulum. The Science of Reading is scientifically-based research that helps educators effectively assess and teach students through prevention of and intervention for reading difficulties.  Whether designing an intensive tutoring program or wanting to add additional instructional skills to your teaching toolbox, this course helps get students on grade level in literacy.
