Kimberly R. Bradford

For over 15 years in education, Kimberly R. Bradford has poured into the lives of students, teachers, and parents. Kimberly earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. To better serve students, Kimberly received a Master’s Degree in Special Education from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). As her experiences evolved, she continued her studies at UTC and received an Educational Specialist’s Degree in Educational Leadership.

From the beginning of her career until now, Kimberly has always had a passion to help others succeed while encouraging strong bonds of learning among all students, regardless of race, ability, or socioeconomic status. The avenue of education has allowed her to impact several diverse groups, such as students with different learning abilities and students within urban educational areas. These opportunities have caused her to focus her studies on differentiated instruction and urban education. Kimberly’s impact on education can be identified through her most recent project conducted with Dr. Barry Kamrath of UTC entitled, “A Case Study of Teacher Turnover and Retention in an Urban Elementary School”.

Mrs. Bradford is best known for her ability to differentiate classroom instruction to seamlessly meet the needs of students while creating an environment conducive to risk taking and maximum learning. Through professional development sessions, Mrs. Bradford has shared key techniques to be used to accomplish this goal. Her ability to empower teachers and students comes through her relatable stories and common connections that are made with participants.  Her PD sessions are authentic, drawing on the needs of the participants while filling their educational toolboxes with practical strategies to be implemented within the learning environment.

Currently, Kimberly serves as an Assistant Principal of the 6th Grade Academy at Cleveland Middle School. Mrs. Bradford serves her teachers and students with pride as she seeks out solutions to help middle school students navigate issues that are common for those new to the middle school scene, such as academic goals, social pressures, and times of conflict. Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal, Mrs. Bradford served as an Instructional Coach where she provided professional development for teachers within her local elementary school and within the school district. As an Instructional Coach, she concentrated on the impact of data collection to inform instruction. Her impact has stretched even farther as she has served as a special education teacher and an urban elementary school teacher.
